St John's Picturehouse is a student society of St John's College, in the University of Cambridge. The society runs a programme of films during the University terms, which are open to all members of the University - and their guests!

We are a proper cinema! People are often surprised when they hear that we show adverts and trailers before the films and that we show films that are still on at the multiplexes. All our films are shown in the 250-seat Palmerston Room, inside the college's Fisher Building. Unlike many of the student cinemas in Cambridge, we show our films using a cinema grade DCP projector, and use Dolby sound systems to offer excellent surround sound reproduction.

We usually show films on Sundays (at 7pm & 10pm) - admission costing only £4!

You can join our mailing list, to get weekly e-mails about the films showing that week, by clicking here.

The society is entirely run by its student (undergraduate and graduate) members, who work in one of several possible roles - in return, they are given free admission, and are invited to events run by the society for its members. Click here to find out more about being a member of the society.

You can suggest a film for next term by clicking here.

If you would like us to show a film for your society, please read our note on collaborations.
